Hello and welcome to our site.  The NY Capers started in SW Florida in 2013 by a couple of Long Islander Italian Sisters.  We are a not-for-profit social club looking for fellow NY residents or those from "other" Northern States who have relocated to the Cape Coral, SW  Florida area and/or have a desire to move here and would like information about this place we call paradise.  Our main goal is to bring people together with familiar backgrounds to create fellowship amongst Yankees alike.  A place to feel comfortable asking for a "soder."

The history of Cape Coral  Florida.   The city was the vision of Leonard and Jack Rosen, who purchased a 103-square-mile tract and formed the Gulf American Corp. to develop the area. On Nov. 4, 1957, the Rosens broke ground on what was to become the city of Cape Coral.
 Designed to be a “water wonderland,” Cape Coral is one of the largest master-planned communities in the United States.
